“Mr. Li’s playing combined youthful abandon with utter command.” (The New York Times)
Twenty-year-old George Li is one of five recipients of a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant. He recently returned from Russia, where he performed as part of the Stars on Baikal concert showcasing the winners of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition. Li was among the soloists who participated in Folk, Form, and Fire, an evening of Prokofiev’s piano concertos at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The NJPAC program also includes Ravel’s poetic Shéhérazade, ouverture de féerie and Leonard Slatkin’s Kinah, a musical elegy dedicated to his musician parents.
Join us for the Bank of America Classical Overtures, held an hour prior to each classical concert. These interactive presentations are hosted by Maestro George Marriner Maull of New Jersey’s Discovery Orchestra and are free to ticket holders.
